Bridal Shower Cake!

My brother is getting married on Saturday, and I wanted to make a special cake for his fiancee's bridal shower! Designing the dress on this was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be, but I love how it turned out!

This cake is a 2-layer, chocolate/vanilla marble cake with a buttercream filling= so yummy!!

Miami Dolphins Cake

My father-in-law is a die-hard Miami Dolphins fan! So, we decided that there would be no better cake for him on his birthday than a Dolphin cake! This was probably the toughest cake I've done, and if made again would take a lot more careful planning and (hopefully) less fondant-breakage! It was super cute though, and I was amazed at how well I was able to match the Miami Dolphin colors! In the end, it was a darling cake, and he loved it so much he kissed it!

Hello Kitty 2

I was asked to make a Hello Kitty cake for my husband's aunt's birthday. She is a fan of Hello Kitty and loved the cake I had made for my cousin. I was excited to make another one, because I thought this would give me an opportunity to perfect Hello Kitty's features. It was so much fun! My favorite part on this cake is the bow.

Hello Kitty

A few months after my initial cake-creating idea had began, I was given the opportunity to create a Hello Kitty cake for my cousin's birthday. I was very honored to be entrusted with the task of making her cake, and did not want to let anyone down! Once I was able to find the perfect picture to model my cake after, I began to create! I was extremely pleased at how well my first shaped cake turned out, and was even more excited to see the reaction on my cousin's face when she saw the cake for the first time.

The History

When it came time for my mom's birthday, I wanted to do something special for her cake. Before this particular occasion had arrived, I had been watching Food Network Cake Challenges, and was fascinated by the amount of artistry involved in making a shaped cake. With that in mind, and the inspiration inside of me, I found myself in the nearest bakery asking if they could create a cake in the shape of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Unfortunately, all they could offer was a picture of the Eiffel Tower, and that only if I could bring one in. I proceeded to query as to whether or not there was another bakery in town that might offer the type of creativity I was searching for, but sadly found the answer to be no. So I ordered the traditional "Happy Birthday Mom" cake, and went on my way. However, the disappointment gave me a new perspective in the world of cakes. I realized that I had the ability to create cakes, and not just any ordinary cakes, but intricate, shapely works of art! After a few trial cakes, and finding the perfect buttercream and fondant icing recipe, I was ready to begin!
